Sunrise, Dream Sparks

Image
Between sunrise and sunset are where my dreams lie, Only in the hollow of my thought do they spark, Between many Yes and seldom No's many doubts run through my worried heart. Between the highs and lows of life's fleeting art, My dreams take flight and spread their wings afar, Like butterflies chasing the wind's sweet flow, They dance and flutter, forever on the go. But in the quiet stillness of my mind's repose, I find the strength to weather all of life's blows, And in the face of doubt and fear's cruel throes, I hold fast to hope and all the joys it bestows.

Nigerians are tribalistic; Ask your Ancestors.

Two factors contribute to people being either "tribalistic" or "Racist". One of them is the story they hear or the experience they have had.  Both of these factors are correct and true but both of them are also wrong and even very wrong. It all depends on the lens you are looking at it from. It is similar to the question asked to know if a glass is either half full or half empty. Hey Solomon, why will you say they are correct and they are also wrong? The truth is you cannot invalidate another man's experience because of your experience. The factors that contributed to one's experience cannot be the same for the other. What this means is that if I being an Igbo boy experienced brotherhood love and care from my "Youruba" roommate in school because I also treated him right and was the first person to open my door to him cannot say the way you experienced love and care from another Yoruba person because his mother told him all Yoruba's are good peo...

A state of Parabole (Poem)

Image
It feels like my heart is leaving my body, And my body's trapped inside, a lifeless nest. Perhaps a cage in a prism, where I must shine, But remain unseen, a state of anguish, not divine. A state of parabole; A very bad state to be in.  Even if I am wrong will you still judge me, Even if I'm flawed, can you still respect me? A state of turmoil, with emotions wild, A place I hate to be, like an anxious child. Even if I am a bad human will you still love me, A state of parabole, hysterical in its nature, A bad state I hate to be in.  This i call the deception of love from another human

Do you know who you really are?

Image
On a Thursday evening precisely on the 6th of April, 2023, within the cosy confines of a singles community, a young lady bravely decided to share a tale of love and heartbreak. With a sincerity and vulnerability that spoke to her grace and poise, she recounted how she had once set her sights on a man who seemed to return her affections- her first lover at an age where she was naive and unsure if she was doing the right thing. In the heady throes of emotional turmoil, she had boldly pursued this object of her desire, unaware that the feeling may not have been mutual. The man, it seemed, was content to play along with her advances, but as their relationship developed, the young lady began to suspect that something was amiss. Perhaps, she mused, he was not interested in her after all, or maybe he was simply not ready for a relationship. Whatever the reason, it became clear that her advances were not being met with the same level of enthusiasm she was investing in the courtship probably be...

Book Review: The Next Level Mentality by David Olawade

Image
Some weeks ago I was sent a book to one of the focused groups I belong to on WhatsApp. This book was written by a great man Mr David Olawade who recently was nominated among the Forbes 30 under 30. This book is a book written to help you appreciate your little beginnings as a person and what you can do to strive better to become a global personality. Mr David Olawade, share some of his life experience on how he rose to become a person of influence and value. As he said, "No one can do what you are called to do better than you. Our generation needs your anointing, expertise, prowess and talent" . So now let's dive deep into the book summary. I seek to drop highlight pointers that I found most intriguing to me from each chapter so you can fully catch a summary from the book. Chapter 1: What have you promised yourself. In this chapter, Mr David mentioned how he promised himself that he would come out the best student in his secondary school and he achieved exactly that.  Bei...

Don't Stop Being Creative!

Image
Juxtaposing ostentatious reality with divine ability creates an insufficiency in human capabilities. How much more do we understand creation and the ability to create if we stop the limiting beliefs we have placed on our human frailties? I have often wondered if as god we are like God, why then does creation stop at a crazy wonder level like in Genesis 1?  The account of Genesis 1 where God created the land, grasses, trees, animals, and fishes, and called forth light out of darkness fascinates me. How did God know that light was embedded in darkness and land within the water bodies like seas? While I still find answers to this obvious question. I have lived my life in gratitude for the creative prowess of God. It is easy to think because he is God- a supreme being then he has such abilities. Maybe I should ask you how the Wright brother knew Aeroplance can exist or how Elon Musk know there can ever be a self-driving car like Tesla. If these innovations cannot drive you to a deep se...
